Camelspace were called in after Millennium Hotel & Resort Manuels in Taupo, New Zealand, caught fire, completely destroying the roof and top floor of the building. Their Layher Keder roof proved to be the only solution that could provide the water tightness, wind loadings, unsupported span and working clearance required.
Amtech Construction, who is carrying out the remedial work, commented how important it was that a suitable roof be installed in super quick time before winter weather conditions damaged the lower floors which had so far escaped fire damage. The roof which was installed without the use of a crane is 23m wide, 25m deep with the apex at 14m high.
