Burghausen refinery in Germany is being serviced and expanded. 5,000 t of Layher Allround scaffolding provided access to the countless distillation towers and crackers and kilometres of pipelines, up to a height of 80m. Bridging was achieved with lattice beams, and Layher's walk-on cassette roof was used for protection against the elements. Steel toe boards were installed to minimize the fire risk.
In refineries in particular, the small dimensions of Layher components are a big advantage - it makes them much easier to handle even in large tanks, whenever internal scaffolding is needed. Work is completed sooner, leading to shorter downtime and reduction in loss of production.
Thank you to Layher Germany for the use of these photos.
