The Civic Centre, Wellington, New Zealand, has been scaffolded by Pyradeck using Layher STAR Frames. Steven Price, Pyradeck's GM, is a big fan of these components. "As frames they are fast to erect but also they have the adaptability that comes from being 100% compatible with Allround." On this job they weren't permitted to drill into the heritage listed building so stability during erection was achieved by using Allround buttress bays.
In case you are curious, the extraterrestrial-looking sphere to the right is by Neil Dawson "an artist whose fusion of Pop and Minimalist aesthetics have for two decades graced airspace around the globe".
