This cantilever scaffold was erected on a drill rig in the middle of Bass Strait off the Victorian Coast. The scaffold came out from the rig superstructure and cantilevered outboard so that the structural steel on the lifeboat davitts could be replaced.
"To add to the degree of difficulty the complete scaffold then had to be encapsulated to contain residue from the blasting and painting work being carried out in a marine park," said Grant Humphreys, General Manager Orvad (WA) Pty Ltd.
